Who can remember the Andromeda Sci-Fi

I have a distant (very distant) memory of a Sci-Fi series or movie with the central thesis somehow connected with the Andromeda Galaxy. Trouble is, I just can't put my metaphorical finger on it now. It's cropped up because I plan doing some imaging of that galaxy and M33 in the coming few days up at the Qld Astrofest Camp at Duckadang and it's nagging at me.

Can anyone remember something of it? I do recall "The Andromeda Strain" movie from the late 60's but I'm not sure this is it.

Not sure if it was on television in Australia but in the USA we had the Kevin Sorbo led series highlighted here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andromeda_(TV_series)

Then there was Andromeda, starring Hercules actor....
Whatever his name was.
Oh, Kevin Sorbo, I didn't even have to look it up. Not bad till the final season then a total wash out.

Thanks guys. It’s the Fred Hoyle one I now remember. That big, lugubrious figure at the start of each episode was unusual to say the least.

Don't forget the dastardly Kelvans came from Andromeda in the Star Trek TOS episode - "By any other name".

Hi guys,
I just happen to have saved a few of my favourite Sci Fi movies & have a couple
on my mediafire site.

Here's what you're all on about...& you can binge out in warm comfort...

&, if you want another 3 or 4 classics, then try these...

Grab the KFC, chips, pop corn & Coke, beer or glass or red & enjoy.

ps. I've got the later version of The Andromeda Strain somewhere but cannot find it.
Will go 'n' search for it......later.

Now, don't drink too much beer coz you'll miss all the best bits.
