Thanks Martin. I can only tell the truth (that's why I live alone) and must tell you the crop was dictated by the most annoying blemishes that I could not explain....and the top left...well you should have seen jt before it got a going over with the "burn" tool...it was unusually bright...I put it down to a problem rather than some sort of nebulosity...so I removed it. Also I was inspired by John's image (Osca)..
I am surprised how what is a wide field scope manages to grab gallaxies...probably not as good as it gets but for me it has put off getting a 11 inch Galaxy getter...as I am starting to have too many scopes I think...I just cant get rid of any as I love each one..and got the 8 inch out for development..as I am going to continue its build..the works..baffles..a rack and pinion focuser reinforcing baffled dew tube extension...soon I will have the time needed and my current lay out allows another scope ( maybe another two) in the observatory...and my old eq6 is a fantastic mount...
Yes the OSC is the only way to go with the RASA..first I don't think my filters work well at F2.2 even though they are supposed to, and filter changing is just a tiresome pain with filters getting dirty..plus taking off the dew shield and then the drawers ... I am over it ...it wants to fight ..I don't....and after getting a hint of what OSC can do with my M42 capture I don't feel bad at all...and the 115mm has a flash set of filters now.
Hope you are well.
Alex
