Walking with Dinosaurs: The Live Experience
Anyone seen the adverts for this yet?
http://www.dinosaurlive.com/
Looks awesome! Life-size dinosaurs!
My kids are fully into dinosaurs at the moment, after watching Prehistoric Park when it was on TV, and then over and over again on DVD, and reading all his dinosaur books!
I'm probably going to get some tickets to this - but they're not cheap! And it's only 1 week before Lostock (in NSW)!
I need to get Walking with Dinosaurs (and Beasts and Monsters) on DVD - I think there'll be a revival of them soon after this live show.

I'm trying to organise taking my 7 year old son along to see it in Brisbane late January ..... it isn't a "cheap" show, but he and I will both get A reserve seats for about $140 total. In these days of many live acts costing $200-300 per ticket (costing, NOT worth!) I guess this show could have been a LOT more expensive, given the huge expense in maing the animatronics, so I'm reasonably happy, if that makes sense.

Tuesday? That's not bad considering.. I had to book 2 months in advance to get 2 seats together on a weekend.

Saw the "Walking With Dinosaurs - The Live Experience" yesterday.
It was awesome!
Life-sized dinosaurs! It was amazing, Jacob loved it of course and I did too! Very clever with their puppetry and robotics/hydraulics.
Definitely a must see.

I really wanted to see this, but the ticket price turned me off.
What was the format of the show like Mike? Was it documentary like, or storyline like, or just show and tell like?

yeh the tickets were expensive, and so was the merchandise!! But I guess it was worth it. We only bought the programme ($20), not any of the other novelty things which were just as expensive.
It was like a documentary style - they had a "paleontologist" actor telling the story, through the triassic, jurassic and cretaceous periods, and different dinosaurs would come out for the different eras.
It also talked about the split up of the pangea continent, the rise of plants and flowers etc (with some nice air-inflated plants/trees).
When the dinosaurs came out, sometimes they just wandered around, other times they had a fight etc.
They were life-size, which was great. They really were huge. Makes you wish (in some way) you could see them alive now. The effects were great, they really did look real and had very realistic movement in all aspects (walking, movements, head movement, jaw, eyes etc).
The story ended at the 65m years ago time with a comet smashing into the earth.
I loved it.
