NGC6231 Nthn Jewel Box Cluster

A rare clear night & free time, so pushed the scope to a busy area and randomly found this. I love doing that, just scanning an area and then imaging what looks interesting. Makes it less clinical & more like a 'discovery', than just keying in an object into the goto. Turns out this is a really interesting young little cluster, merely 3 million yo.

Thanks chaps! I liked the nebulosity framing the stars, a bit of a surprise once I started stretching the image.

Simon, that is a beautiful image. You have even managed to get part of the Dark Tower in the bottom left. Well done mate.
