greetings from Bulgaria

Just a quick hello to everyone from an i/net caf in Sofia.
Here is a Mig parked in a small town near Velinko Tarnovo - apparently it's been there for over 20 years - and a church in Sofia.

the f/4 dob made it allright in the suitcase & hand luggage, but did not get to do much observing so far - too much clouds and moon.

Good to hear from you Steve!!! Also good to hear the scope made it unharmed.
Dont accept any cheap flights in that mig Steve, it looks a little dodgey and a tad unairworthy!
Have a great trip, look forward to your next update.

I like the irony of the horse and cart passing by the fighter.

Ahhhh,

I know you are only bluffing Steve! Your still in Oz telling porky's.

That Mig is dumped in a paddock up near the Dandenongs and that church is just near Northcote!!! I'm onto you.

Have a blast Steve!

After having a longer look at your great Pics Steve, one thing stands out to me.

Jeanette mentions the irony of the Mig Fighter and the Horse & Cart.
What stands out to me is: Which one is still going strong and which one is laying dead amongst the weeds!

Hmmmm, technology.

Thanks for all your relplies!

First time I'm on the web since my last post. Spent the past week and some in Transylvania, Romania.

The scope did not get as much use as I hoped BUT did get to spend one night under excellent skies. some highlights include:
* Andromeda and two satellites!
* Veil nebula
* galaxies M51 and sibling
* Ring nebula
* Double cluster
* Double double eta something (I forgot)
Unfortunately I did not get to see all the bright galaxies around the big dipper esp m81-2 that I was looking forward to but I can't complain...

But geez we have good skies in Oz! Both ito what's up there and how little light pollution there is outside our big cities.

Sorry cant send any pics now.

I'm now in Budapest, will be flying back to Melbourne, arriving on Wednesday.

Best wishes.
