Congratulations on another successful eclipse and a nice corona shot for your collection Joe. No surprise trees in the way.
You struck gold with the aurora too.

Instead of using gloves, use mittens on a lanyard and glove liners (thin gloves). Put hand warmers in the mittens. You can swap hands often and keep them warm. Water goes in a thermos.

That level of cold is a bit addictive and we're planning on going back to Fairbanks for another Christmas. I'd rather have got to Svalbard but it didn't work out for us this time.

Great shot, Joe! Widefield images are nice but a close shot of the corona is what does it for me. After spending a fair amount of time processing a corona image from 2012 I can see how you'd be able to pick a specific eclipse you'd seen before from a quick glance at an image.

Superb corona shot. Always entertaining to hear stories of technology behaving badly in cold temperature. We take a lot of things for granted.
