Meade Barlow

Hi Chaps,
Has anyone had anything to do with the Meade #140 Apochromatic barlow? They seem to be a bit cheaper then the orion shorty plus. Also has the joker who bought the new gso apochromatic 2inch barlow given it a go yet? I am interested in how it performed.
Have a nice day,
Rastis.

I have a Meade #140 Barlow, seems OK but I haven't compared it side by side with anything else.

Hi,

Its a very good barlow, the equal of other high quality barlows including Celestron Ultima and Orion Shorty Plus. Marginally inferior to the standard Televue barlows and not as good as the powermates which are a lot more expensive.

Highly recommended if you can't afford the 2.5X TV Powermate.

Hi Chaps,
Ordered the Meade #140 yesterday at a quarter to five from Star Optics at the Gold Coast. It showed up here at Hervey Bay lunch time today. I was just going to drag the dobbo out into the yard and give it a go on Saturn, and it decides to rain.
