Jupiter's little worlds

Here's a couple of images of 2 of the little worlds orbiting Jupiter..

Ganymede is on the left, Io is on the right.

They are both resized up 2x.

They were captured as nice round discs.. don't know whether there's any detail on them, but there is colour at least.

I'm pretty happy with them, given a focal length of 6250mm or so.

I can't wait to see what Bird and the other great imagers produce when they capture these worlds at over 10000mm FL!

Once i've finished processing my Jupiter avi's, i'll put the moons on the image in context with the planet.

have you got the hubble down on the central coast Mike! Well done. would be very difficult to photograph the same items with a regular DSLR, looking forward to you completing the set!

Cool images Mike.

I saw some images once that showed detail on the moons. Can't remember where though, might have been Hubble.

Speaking of small disc sizes, I haven't seen too many images of Uranus or Neptune on the forum. Have you tried these yet?

Mike, excellent work and worth the effort. The first one looks like it might have some detail - hard to tell if it's real or chromatic aberration with a bit more red on one lin and bit more blue of the other. That aside even being able to apply the term "limb" to what are normally spots shows just what good work this is.

Kevin - Damian Peach has a classic shot with Ganymede showing detail, but you don't need to go that far Dennis's shot from 2-3 weeks ago alos shows detail on the largest Jovian moon!

Thanks again guys. It's great seeing a disc on the laptop screen while capturing. Last year my focal length was much less so I never got to see such a thing.

In excellent seeing i'm sure I can capture some detail (like Bird did).
