Waiting, Wishing

Hi all,

Star trail image from a failed aurora chase a few night ago. Almost full moon- bad for faint aurora, good for lighting up the landscape.

Mt Buffalo National Park, Australia

240 x 30 seconds exposures.

Thanks Mike There are some great foreground opportunities up on Mt Buffalo which I will explore another night, but because I was hoping for a glimpse of an aurora I just setup the camera at the highest vantage point I could find with a reasonably clear view to the south. And yes this was the Pro Optic (Samyang) on the 5DmkII

Nice one Greg. Also being tormented by the aurora mate . I spent a few days down Esperance way last new moon and missed a KP 5 aurora because it went off during the day. Had one camera pointing south shooting all night for 5 nights and got nothing.
