NGC7293 Helix Nebula - Updated with HA data

Hi
Straight RGB Image using a Canon 30D, ED100 and a Clip in CLS filter. 14 subs at 600 seconds, ISO400, .

Interested in feedback on this. The camera was modded and I get a hint of magenta in the stars. How can I process this out? Any other processing tips would also be appreciated.

I would like to go back and try some HA on this but this object is proving to be my nemisis for many various reasons.

Thanks for looking

Hi David, looks like the data will all be there in the uncompressed originals. For neutral colour in the background I used the middle eyedropper in photoshop levels and then just a stretch to fully expand the tonal range. It would look better doing it on the original.

Excellent shot by the way.

Thanks very much for the feedback Kevin, much appreciated.

Will have a tweak in PS later on. Weather looks like it will be clear tonight so will be trying for some HA

NGC7293 Helix now with HA

I went back to this and took 4 hours of HA to go with the 2 hours of RGB in the original image and am pretty pleased with the processed result. Not a patch on What Martin has just posted but I am very pleased with it although I have lost some of the other colours in processed the HARGB

All subs at 600 seconds, ISO 400 on a Canon 30d

Not to keen on the colors but the field and stars are gorgeous. Well done.

Thanks for the feedback, Marc..suspect I may go back for Oiii as by all accounts there is a fair bit here and some of the Helix images posted here have been awesome.

Comparing with others, the colour is a bit muted so will fiddle around with the blending I did with the ha when I add more data.
