Yeh, on a mothers Day cruise on Sydney harbour on the Showboat paddle steamer and we hit the bow of a huge multimillion $ cruiser moored off Rose Bay, it was like a big white iceberg coming at us, just clipped our rear corner and the big red paddle of our boat, some damage was done and they had trouble re starting our paddle. It was pretty scary as it was windy and our boat was full with two floors and about 350 people!
Poor safety systems too, the comedian on board talked over the very low volume safety recording at the start so it was inaudible and then no word from the captain or crew for nearly and hour, instead leaving the only update to the old comedian to make! When the captain did come over teh intercome system the music piping through didn't cut out so we still couldn't make out what he was saying! Not a life jacket or raft in sight either! Shameful, haven't learn from the Costa Concordia yet it would seem

After waddling around in circles for 30min while the damage was being assessed and the paddle restarted, the Police launch shadowed us all the way as we limped back to port...where Chanel 10 was waiting.
Ruined what would have been a great cruise... although, had the impact occured just a couple of seconds earlier the big white cruiser would have crashed into the portside of our boat and the result would have been likely much worse!
