It's that time of year again, where I turn the air conditioner and heaters on full and let them battle it out to the end.

Sounds like a cold day in hell.

Earth hour, slightly darker skies....all good.

Well, from where do you suggest they emanate? The mouth, the top of the head or elsewhere ....

Seriously though, no one is suggesting we limit our respiration so direct human production of CO2 is not highlighted. It's our behavior and lifestyle choices (and - to be fair - compulsions) the producers wish to address. I don't recall the adds clearly (I see very very little TV) but I don't think they draw attention to one very important contributer to our carbon footprint - our food. It's amazing to find out how much fossil fuel is in steak, icecream, biscuits or in eating tropical fruit in July. (BTW if you are in Sydney tomatoes are OK. They are all grown in greenhouses around the edge of the city. Lettuce on the other hand are flown in from Alice Springs.)

Do I have to blow out my candle? I imagine that would be the right thing to do ..parifin must have carbon in it because it has dirty soot.

I was worried about the carbon footprints but now I am more worried by the "nuclear shadow".

Still the nuclear folk claim we wont see the carbon footprint in the nuclear shadow so how good is that.

Only when we cant see any footprints because our feet are under water will real action be taken but that will only be in the form of gumboot subsidies.

So when sitting in the dark still have bright thoughts.

Not at all, let's breathe and use the natural resources thoughtfully - many of them are finite after all.
But where is promised warming - I am freezing all the summer? And drying of the climate with less rains and therefore LESS CLOUDS!!! Not that I am complaining on water overflow from our storages - despite scientific prognosis of them going dry last year. In fact, I am quite happy about that

P.S And please, don't make me feel guilty for buying imported fruit and observing my dietary requirements.
