You should duck... I'm on the Android camp

Seriously though... I do have both Android and Apple on the map... but I don't know when I'll actually get to it or how much I can really do with these OS.

Thanks,

Does anyone else get that awful sound effect when starting up, and when "connecting" the camera? - kind of like an "electrical arcing" effect. Is this a normal sound effect for BackyardEOS?

Regards,
Stephen

Stephen,

It's the default sound when you try to connect a camera and none is present and because BYE auto connects you get that sound on start up.

However, you can delete the corresponding .wav sound file in the BackyardEOS install folder with no side effect... other than the sound not playing anymore that is.

So, can I replace the .wav file with my own sound?

Yes, as long as the name is the same. However, some .wav file are not properly encoded and .net won't play them... but if you find one that plays fine and you like it... replace it.

If it's the 30-day trial, I had to wait for Guylain to send me the licence file. I put this licence file in the installation folder. This appears to "activate the trial version. I don't know any other quick fix, sorry

Mind you, with the weather in Melbourne at present, I think my 30 days will expire before I get the chance to actually use it (oh yeah, that right. You live in SUNNY Townsville )

BackyardEOS 1.2.0 has been promoted to production status.

Thank you to everyone who helped testing this release, your assistance is
greatly appreciated.

In this 1.2.0 production release, I have re-instated the virtual mirror lock as
an experimental feature pending more testing. To benefit from this feature, go
to the setting dialog and access the experimental setting window and enable the
feature. If you have any issues with it, disable it and report your findings.

Thank you

BackyardEOS version 2 has just been promoted to production status; dated November 20th 2011.

I have fixed a few minor bugs since the last beta release a few weeks ago. I have also added 2 goodies. You can now suspend (and resume) your image capture plan. The second goodie is actually a new application called BackyardRED.

BackyardRED is 100% free for everyone, even if you don’t own a copy of BackyardEOS. Enjoy!

Check the new website too -> www.backyardeos.com

Thank you for your support and interest,

Guylain & Chris
