Talking Just watched "The Dish" again

After getting a tour inside the Dish the other week (thanks John!), it inspired me to go and buy "The Dish" DVD, and I finally got around to watching it again tonight.

Just a great movie. Gave me goosebumps in a few spots.

Abbey and Jacob watched it with me, the first time they've seen it. When they weren't asking questions the whole way through it, they enjoyed it too. Especially since they could relate and say "We were inside there!"

Loved it!

Ah... love it.

Probably my favourite movie.

It's pretty close, Ben. There maybe some minor points that differ for the sake of humour but the facts are pretty close, and the spirit of the guys is pretty close to that of the guys I met there in 1993 when I was teaching them some vertical rescue from the dish. e.g. there were tyre tracks going all over the place around the paddocks and when we asked they explained that they had a long exposure a couple of nights before so while the dish was doing its thing they went out spotlighting for rabbits... The hayrides and cricket in the dish are factual too.

Al.

Completely agree - it's a brillian piece of Australian cinema in so many ways. I must watch it again, now that you've reminded me of it
