Arrow Jupiter, GRS and new NEB spots/outbreak from this morning

Hi all

Finally – the first clear night in weeks and my first imaging opportunity since May 25!

I’ve got loads of data to process, but I wanted to quickly process this one and get it there because a) I won’t get much time to process many more images in the next day or two, and b) it’s an image showing the GRS and the new spots and NEB outbreak in high resolution, thanks (finally!) to some good seeing conditions.

This is just the first of many from the session, so check back for more in the next few days.

Thanks for looking.

Very nice work there Mike,

Lovely detail in and around the GRS.
The whole image is really a smorgasboard of fine structure and crisp detail.

Good to see you east coasters finally got some descent weather.
This result shows that it was worth the wait, indeed.

Regards
Trevor

Nice image Mike. Probably your best this season. The NEB structures are very interesting.

Did you get that vibrational issue sorted? I cannot seem to see any small ovals or storms in the image, just the larger structures.

Not bad, Mike. Certainly looks to be your best so far this season.

There's a fairly solid blue and red limb, though. Probably due to it being a 'quickie' ?

My, the GRS has certainly changed in colour.

Thanks for posting

Loads of interesting detail in there Mike. Seems to be a lot more happening on Jupiter this time around than last year.

Looking forward to more from you.

Nice image mike, you should call it "the cyborg" on account of the eye being dead centre .

Thanks Trev, it's been a long time between drinks this season.

I did get my mount serviced, but I don't think there was any vibrational issues in the end. I believe it's just been a shocking run of seeing.
When the seeing is good, the detail will come.

Thanks Matt - yeh I didn't bother correcting for the limb in this quick process. I'll definitely fix it up when I put the final lot together.

Thanks Lester, it was pretty boring until the NEB Upheaval just recently but now it's certainly very busy.

Same here.. Although the forecast is for at least 5 days of clear skies starting on Sunday. That'll be nice for a change!

Thanks RB - the seeing really fluctuated during the session but hopefully there's enough good images for an animation. Should finish processing them today or tomorrow.
