A sad day indeed.
Australia desperately needs role models for the youngsters, and now we've lost one of the best.
he will always be remembered as a true Australian.

Yep. sad loss. By all accounts a very professional and likeable gentleman who had one comodity in short-supply among the current crop of actors and actresses - humility.

Excellent in The Castle (one of my all-time favourite movies) but even better playing a villan in Breaker Morant.

Best,

Les D

I'll repeat what Les has said here. Bud Tingwell was one of those quiet types that made a noise though his ability to act, not act up.

The Castle is one of my all-time favourite Aussie movies too. RIP Bud.

Sad news indeed, one of the great Australian actors.

I still remember him from the Homicide days in black and white

RIP Bud, a great Australian.

"Vale" indeed...he seemed to bring a true, gentlemanly dignity to both his screen work and off-screen persona.

Duncan, he was on British TV series called Emergency Ward Ten, for quite a few years in the 1960's-70's and in a lot of Aussie films and TV series.
He came across as very down to earth and was a very well respected Australian person and Actor and will be surely missed in the Australian Entertainment Industry
