Moon last night (Phase 11 days 5 hours)

Hi,

well this is really my first attempt at taking a picture of the moon.

I used a DSI II PRO through an ED80 piggybacked on a LX200 10"

I stacked about 30 for each filter at 0.0008sec

Aligned them in photoshop

Thanks for viewing (Note: Opening the picture to its full resolution removes the internlace lines - so best viewed when completly opened on full screen)

Nice image Paul.

I wish I could capture that same contrast that you have that shows up in the darker areas there.

Thanks Geoff. I think the green channel brings that out the most. Definatley worth imaging in RGB

Top effort there Paul,

When imaging the Moon at phases like this it is always a compromise between making the bright areas dark enough to resolve detail while not making the dark areas appear abnormally dark.

I think you have done a good job with this image.
