NGC 253 - The sculptor galazy

Here's NGC253 from last night outing!

Unfortunately I had a lot of problems that turn out to be Software related! Anyway, NGC253 was really low on the horizon and I did not get the 2 full hours I wanted!
Furthermore, my Canon battery died on me, and I did not have a replacement!

Pentax 125 SDP
Pentax 75 SDHF
EM200 guided
Canon 40D

20 x 5 min @ ISO1600

Nice result despite your problems and your latitude.

A few points though, the stars have no colour so perhaps you can see if there is any data there you can bring out to get some colour in them.
Also the galaxy is more brownish with a yellowish core and your image appears blue biased. Perhaps it is the fact your camera is not modified and probably shows the blue more.

Greg.

Thank you guys!

Greg: I fear that the stars do not have any colors because of my Canon 40D! I tried to bump way up the saturation but there's nothing there!

Nicely resolved galaxy with excelent guiding. The whole image appears a little blue on this monitor but I'm not sure this is only a little 8" screen. I would think you should be able to lift the dust lanes a little more and adjust the colour a bit and it will be a great image.
Well done.

Lovely image, Emanuele. An excellent result despite your problems, that many of us southerners, including myself, will be very envious of! Keep up the good work. Russ

Top shot. Very nice details in there and tight round stars all over the field. Very well done. Nice work.

Thank you guys!
I'm trying to understand why my images or always color biased. It might be due to the fact that I am imaging with an unmodded camera!
