the things Kids do....

Tonight we had a nice BBQ - under cloudy skies. The wife and I shared a lovely bottle of red, enjoyed a steak and really forgot about the kids - for about 5 minutes.

During that time our son had "built" his tent, stocked it with camp mat, sleeping bag and pillow, came out and said he wanted to go to bed. So we said sure, just clean your teeth we will be in to see you soon. Well when we went i we could find him. then we followed the snoring.........

big day tomorrow.....

I am not "welshing" - merely saving what little astro brownie points I have.

and for your information he has my bino's, tape measure and red light torch in there with him, the straps from the trailer. I also think he has his sisters sleeping bag, and camp mat. She doesnt know yet

Chip of the old block I'd say, probably caught a glimpse of his dad's tent collection and dreaming of one day having his own taj mahal....

LOL! I still remember, as a 10 y/o (35 years ago) setting up a broken surfboard, bits of tin and cardboard as a camp shelter in our back yard next to the barbie. I used to love it when it rained as I'd be huddled under the shelter monitoring it for leaks. I was so proud that I didn't have any, and would stay out for hours enjoying my little building, staying dry and reading a book with the rain pouring down. Mum would bring lunch out and I'd have dinner at "my place". Jeez those were fun days...

I wish my 3 yo daughter did her own tent construction. I think she is going to be a project engineer or architect. She just orders me to build it to her specification! "No! Not like that! That bit goes over there!"
