Where do you find the IIS member number?

I have noticed that a number of people have put their member number in their signature. Where to you find it? I can't seem to find it in any of the User CP.

Thanks

hover your mouse pointer over the user name next to your avatar in any post, your number will be displayed on the Status line at the bottom left of your web browser.

Just hover over your username and look at the URL. It says u=XXX.

For you, it's 363.

Hover over avatar is best? Firefox then shows the detail at the bottom of the screen.

Edit:- OK, I just checked. With IE the information is shown if you hover over the username or the avatar. With Firefox it only appears when hovering over the avatar?

I tried this for some of the names in the Members list on the same page as mine, and some were a number higher than the total number of members who have registered to the site (by several hundreds). Am I missing something?

The member counter increases for every new member that registers, including the mobile phone spammers etc. So that's why for new users, the u=XXXX is actually quite a bit higher than the "Total Members" listed at the bottom of the Forum Home page (which doesn't include banned members/spammers).

Mike, the technical side of running this site is WAY too complicated for my IT-stunted brain!
