The Rains been great but.......

The rain over the past couple of weeks has been great but I have just seen cloud of mozzies try to lift our dog off the back verandah. Man these things have been vicious in the last week, built like B52s some of them.

What are these early evening loving vampires like at your place?

Mozzies love me, darn things will fly for miles to get a drink of Scottish blood. Remember having a look through a microscope at some our Environmental Officer had trapped the night before and remarking thats how I liked to see them. "Close up" she said. "No" I replied "Dead !"

No mozzies here, Paul!

I don't remember mozzies here years ago but in recent years we've got the odd one or two. Haven't seen any yet this year...

If you've had enough rain, send it down this way. We desperately need it. If it's going to be cloudy it may as well rain!

Al.

I have a Dam, and a creek running by my paddock, and yet we never get mozzies! Although, a few nights ago I did see a few of those tiny little annoying ones. I splattered them and haven't seen any since.

Ken we have billions of the blighters- I have just bought a new mozzie zapper as the other one caught fire 3 nights ago. this one has no base so they just drop down onto the ground - ants recycle them. so far there is a 1cm high pile under it

So what are the ants supposed to be doing? Perhaps it's the quality of the blood??

I haven't seen a single mozzie in Adelaide this season... And no small fires either! Again

I haven't seen any down my way yet. I think the cool nights are holding them at bay for the moment but I know they are lurking somewhere.

We have em here too, lots and hungry. The last house we had was west of Launceston and about 1Km from a deep river gorge, oddly enough there were no Mozzies there, I'm still pondering as to why.

Yep yep, they're huge over here.
They manage to bite through tracky daks and jumpers.
What I hate most is when they get trapped behind my glasses and bite bite bite.
When I set up late afternoon, I light a few mozzie coils and place them here and there. By the time the mirrors cooled, most of the mozzies are gone too.
