I love it ... the watchers become the watched
We have tried to catch the ISS with our LX90 on 3 occassions, each time with a little more success.
I have had more luck with my Dob , with a widefield 2" eyepiece & with the little Astroscan.
Can just start to make out some detail.
Seems the thing needed with the LX90 is to be able to see ISS as it rises on the horizion.
As that is where the LX90 parks itself, waiting for ISS to arrive
Any one got any tips on this one

I love watching the ISS cross our sky, I call the kids out to watch it.
This next question may belong in its own thread but...
i'd be very interested to know everyones opinion on the ISS.
A fabulous piece of engineering, moving us into the 21st century & paving the way for future long duration space travel?......or.......a bloody expensive white elephant that really doens't serve us any real purpose & is the domain of a very exclusive few?
I personally wish it had a realtime camera mounted to its underside that we could log onto & watch the world rolling by anytime day or night.

The ISS is what got me started in astronomy, saw it going over one night and started to investigate. When it's going over at sane times HRH Liz and I run outside to watch.

Ian, the LX's have satellites in the database and will track, you can even select how high above the horizon you want to intercept. Meade also has updates on the site to keep the LX database up to date as the satellites orbits vary.

Ahh ...that is the key
Setting the height above the horizion !
The default is 10 deg & that is too low
I know we will get the ISS in our sights next time
