Green Moon

So, how many of you backed Green Moon just because of its astro related name?

One of the girls in my office was going to the TAB this morning and asked if anyone wanted a bet put on for them. So one of the guys says "Green Moon is a cool name, here's $10 to put on it". She gets to the TAB and got the numbers mixed up so he ends up with $10 on some other horse. Needless to say she copped a bit of flak in the office after the race!

I drew Green moon in the sweep. Looked a good chance. So I told every one it would win for sure.

No I did not put any money on it.

I jest recieved a text from my Mum who still puts a bet on for me every year and if I have deciphered the text correctly she put it on Green Moon and I won.
Good stuff I suppose, I will have to find out what the odds were and what the bet was when it's not so late back home.

I thought green moon was a good call considering the upcomming eclipse but I forgot about daylight saving down south and missed the bet. Hope I have better timing for the eclipse.

I drew Green Moon and Galileo's Choice out of the hat for the sweepstake at a party (two $2 stakes) and I'm not making that up! Very appropriately astronomical. Got enough to buy dinner for two from Green Moon's win... dinner was fish and chips!

That's not too shabby, I'll have to see what she put on it then. Probably $2 each way or something but it'd be nice if it was a tenner or more.
I'll find out soon I guess.
