Was out this morning on a property on the Blackbutt Range catching up with some dingos killing sheep.I'd just finished my work,and heard a strange plane,I was on a scrub line and got a glimpse,not sure what its was,but by the sound of the engines and what I could see,it was BIG,there was only one thing I could think that it was,so managed to get back to ute,and get the other canon and make it do some work.Most pleased with my mornings' 'mixed bag'.
Think they call these jets Antonov's-not sure of type number,but they are supposedly one of the very large aircraft of the world,one of the areospace workers here might be able to give more details.

Thanks Lewis,I have not had time to check the details,its quite a large impressive plane,not sure if its sister has ever been to Australia-I think it has 6 engines and a tail like a Lancaster-I'd like to see it!

Thanks Leon,oh I wish,you do get a photo of it landing a Darwin!,that B52 image you captured was stunning!,I look at it regularly in my download file.
Interestingly,I saw this plane fly over at the time of the eclipse the other day,but was too tired and trying to get roof rolled of observatory to take photo of eclipse,to get a another photo of it.

Ahhh! that's terrific Dennis-well done,great capture.I have been meaning to ask if any IIS in Brisbane area noticed it too-as many here would have been looking skyward.I imagined StephenM sitting on Mt Coot-tha,and might have got a capture of this giant plane.While he was up the capturing the eclipse.
