EOS Utility & Mac OS 10.7.5

Just a heads up, if you are thinking of upgrading to Mac OS 10.7.5 and are using the Canon EOS utility think again.

The app will open without the camera attached, as soon as the connection is made the EOS Utility crashes.

I upgraded and found out the hard way. So if you need EOS Utility to work don't change to 10.7.5 until there has been a fix.

Cheers

Phil

It was mentioned here a while back - when Mountain Lion was released. Canon are typically slow in recognising that they aren't the only cog in the machine. Humayun will have a better idea though, as I'm sure he'd have trawled all the appropriate forums and sites for info on what Canon intend to do now the operating system has been released for weeks - and was in beta for many, many months before that....

Yeah, I mentioned this in the Mountain Lion thread. This is crucial for me for tethered shooting (I don't use LightRoom, etc).

There's an update coming in October -- it's on the Canon support page for the 5D Mark III.

It took Canon almost a year to release EOS Utility with Lion support.

EOS Utility 2.12 update is available on the USA canon web site.

I installed it on OS 10.7.5 and it works fine. It should work on 10.8 but I havn't tried it yet.

Cheers
