Satin or gloss?

Just finished the final satin white coats to the old 150mm refractor. I like it, but...

Will adding a gloss clear enhance the paint protection much? Would gloss white look decent?

Most scopes do have a coat of clear over the paint. I suppose I could buy a satin clear and do it that way, but have automotive gloss clear on hand.

Pictures below. I shot it with DyMark satin white paint - superb adhesion, settling and uniformity.

I like satin or semigloss rather than a full gloss personally. Sounds like you've got the spray gear to do whatever you like. Nice ..

It's going to look way better than that blue
Not a fan of the blue
Semi gloss , matt would be hard to get finger prints off

I found the blue decidedly off-putting. Hence the facelift.

All done, reassembled, new focuser installed. Just waiting on the finderscope base I forgot to order. With my 2kg of lead in the focuser end, it balances MUCH better, and the upset moments from bumping are dampened.

I'll download some pictures soon.

You would probably end up cut and polishing it to much with a gloss due to scratches showing, lol break out the carnauba wax. I think white is really needed bad when its dark, dark colors just arn't practical even though they look sweet, synta should have factored that in lol.
