Thanks Marc

I'm giving my new 10-22mm lens a good run for its money. I'm also pleased with the colours, some may not like the method used i.e. 3 different exposures blended into one but art is in the eye of the beholder

The towers visible in the middle distance are on Maddens Plain. Before they locked it up and installed extra lights I used that as an observing spot. Couldn't recommend it. A far bit of light and lots of turbulence because of the cliff.
My place is basically at the base of the most distant 'hill' where it runs down into the light. I don't observe from home.

You live in a nice corner of the planet David
Shame though as you say that you don't observe from home, is that because you cannot image or is visual also out of the question?
I wish it had've been me that photographed Comet Lovejoy let alone seen it, unfortunately I had just left the day before the discovery for Christmas in Europe which is in the blooming Northern Hemisphere

so I just had to read about it and saw the lovely pictures taken from Oz.
