Nullarbor Startrails

Took this during a recent trip to the nullarbor desert, its 52 shots at 10 mins a shot stacked with startrails.

Taken using a canon 5d mk III, ISO 400 and f4(best guess) @ 14mm

see here for a larger version as the pic posted to IIS has been greatly compressed to fit size limits!

Cheers,
Grahame.

First astro 5D3 shot I have seen. Very impressive. Lovely colours in the trails.

Interesting how the trails bend back the other way on the right side.
What lens was that?

Greg.

Love the composition! The symmetry between SCP and NCP is complimented by the two trees. Very nice and realistic colours too, this has to be one of my favourite star trail shots.

Thanks all

Alex - you wouldn't believe how far i had to walk all the gear to those two trees, they were the largest (and only) ones I could see for Klms!

Submit this to APOD, please.

This deserves to be printed big on canvas and hung up somewhere prominent in your home.

Ahhhh - Nikon lens on Canon body explains the f4ish comment.

Very impressive. Didn't realise the divergence at the northern end was due to the NCP - initially I thought it was lens distortion.
