Did the dirty

Did the dirty on the Canon Eos 350D last night using the excellent instructions by Ash (http://astro.ai-software.com/articles/mod_350D/mod_350D.htm). The whole job took about 2 and a bit hours to completes.

I had no plans to test out the camera until tonight, but by the time I had completed the mod the clouds had clear. So like a kid with a new toy out came the scope on when the modified 350D and the way I when. Test target for the night was the “Keyhole Nebula”, all I can say is “WOW”

So here is my first shot with the modifided 350D.

If the weather remains good for the next couple of days, boy am I going to have fun.

No darks or flats at the moment, just happy to have a camera that still works and can see into the Ha. The image that I posted was just a single 1 min exposure using a ED80 which is piggyback on top of a LX200. As for a filter I used a 2" Baader Fringe Killer which is also very useful for CCD work as it incluced a UV/IR Cut coatings as part of the Fringe Killer formula. To process the image I used Photoshop, all I adjusted is the curve.
