The Emu Watches Over Her Egg

Hi all,
Managed to get a quick couple of shots last night before the clouds rolled in for what looks to be the rest of the week. The waning gibbous moon rising on the horizon below the central bulge of the Milky Way. I was even lucky enough to capture a small but very bright meteor strike in one of the frames.

Yes very nice, I like the way the data has been controlled to show the brightened sky and landscape but not to affect the milkway.

love it. Your lens, i found it and it seems to just be for the 5d etc. is that cause of the full size sensor?

Thank you Steve You can certainly use it on a non full frame camera but it would not be as wide a field of view as say a 10-22mm lens @ 10mm. The 14mm lens (depending on Nikon or Canon) on a non full frame camera would give you the same as about 21-23mm. To get the same field of view on a crop camera you would need a lens in the 9mm range.

Interesting. thanks heaps for that info.

I really want to get my hands on something around a 15mm f1.8 or so for epic wide night sky shots.

Your image made it to my wallpapers
