Boy another internationally famous personage in our midst. Fantastic effort Mike.

The level of the bar just keeps going up and up around here.

I think it would be a good idea if at the end of the year we were to do up a special page of shots that have made publication either in mags or on other commercial/public websites. The way it's going atm, after only 2.5 months into the year it could take quite some time to view all the entries by the end of the year.

Thanks guys!

Jerry emailed me the other day telling me he was planning to use it on March 18.. boy it was hard not to blurt it out then, I can tell you

I'm very pleased to have my shot and animation of Jupiter do so well.. on spaceweather, now APOD, and UniverseToday are also talking of using it in an upcoming article

I never dreamed I'd have a shot on 1 of those publications, let alone all 3!

Talk about a small world. This morning I was signed on at Our Dark Skies (a forum I belong to in the United States). They were congradulating a member (Noel) who had his photo on APOD on March 17th. When I clicked on the link it took me to todays photo instead (the 18th) and I see Jupiter with Mikes name posted below it! I had to click back a day to see Noel's photo, but man, what a coincidence to see both of your photos there.

Congrats to both of you gentlemen! Great job on both photos.

Well done Mike.

One might expect you have a better chance this year of picking up a prize in the SPSP astrophotography competition?! Are you going to enter the moving sequence in the SPSP comp? Is there even a category for that sort of thing?

Look you, cut it out!, I am getting sick and tired of having to congratulate you all the time hehe - it all downhill from here!
but all jokin aside, that is seriously well deserved and executed - how did you all do that? I gave up sending stuff to apod years ago, never used to hear anything back from them? I thought they were NH snobs actually,
but it appears I'm wrong?
Great plug for the site too

Thanks again guys, the response has been overwhelming.. lots of unsolicited emails from people, some genuine and some very cooky

When I look at the stats for the site, it goes to show the incredible influence that APOD has! Over 3 times more visitors in the day that my image was featured on APOD! Just incredible.

I'm very humbled by the positive response to my image/animation, and very proud that it was achieved on what can be considered very modest equipment (these days).

Thanks!
