G'day all,
I really enjoyed yesterday evening at a nearby lake photographing the planet's conjunction. It wasn't just the planets, it was the evening ....
Perfectly clear & still, slightly cool.
Quite and calm - no traffic noise.
Gentle chorus of frogs, ducks and coots
The gentle woosh of flocks of ducks coming flying low overhead to land on the lake now and then.
It was quite magical really. I wish all evenings could be so peaceful and relaxing.
I got a whole swag of nice shots, but quickly put up a blog entry last night to share a first selection. I need to do some stacking of shots to get nice results with Orion, the included shot is a single exposure with no stacking.

Enjoy ... I hope the pictures and description give some sense of the place & time.
PS. Some technicalities for those interested: Canon 70-200 & 17-40 on 7D. Mounted on AstroTrac. Exposure times up to 2 minutes (anything longer got too bright with light pollution). ISO up to 1600.
Roger.
