Takahashi camera adaptors

I splurged recently on a second hand TSA 120 and an FS 60 from here in IIS. I am a tad confused about which adaptors I need for using my DSLR and a CCD. I got focus the other cloudy night using a Meade erecting prism (on the Moon) but tried tonight on actual stars with serious difficulty with my DSLR. I downloaded the TSA 120 system chart which looks to me like the South Korean underground map!
Please-anyone with one of these fine scopes stop me spending any more cash and give me the right advice..

Looking at that I think I might be missing a 70, a 71L and or a 35.
Anyone with the same scopes could you send me pics of your dslr/ccd set up so I can check?
Cheers
Graham

You probably need a CA35 to gain focus for DSLR or CCD imaging. You will also need the camera adapter for which ever camera you are using.

That link does not work either. It has some extra bits of type that stop it opening correctly.

I think this is the system chart needed.

Looking at that, you need the CA35 and the wide T. You should have the eyepiece holder (70) this is similar to what I use on my TOA130. http://www.takahashi-europe.com/en/T...stemcharts.php

And you can get them all from Claude in SA. the system chart can be a challenge at times, but if you get the right stuff it all works so good together

I'd have to agree about the system charts. For your DSLR you'll need the CA-35 wide mount adapter plus a T-ring specific to your camera. Claude can advise you and supply them. The TSA-120 originally ships with two 50mm extension tubes that screw into the 2.7" focuser and one will probably be needed to bring you to focus. Did you get these with your purchase? (I have a spare if you're interested). I'd recommend getting the CAA (camera angle adapter) which makes rotation for object framing easy without changing focus. This also adds a bit of length to the system.

With CCDs and the flattener or reducer, the system is more complex and you need to take into consideration the back focus of the accessory and the distance to the sensor plane. Here's a photo of my reducer setup which includes the CA-35 and the camera angle adapter. The extra bits to the right of the CA-35 are specific to the CCD and filter wheel you use. http://www.pbase.com/rigel003/image/132410762
Lots of good info in the attached chart from Texas Nautical Repair (Takahashi America).

Takahashi camera adaptors

I have these which came with the scope, plus a reducer and ocular/ erecting prism for the FS 60.

Here's the extension tube that screws into the 2.7" focuser of the TSA. It adds another 50mm to the tube length. If you chose to use the camera angle adapter, it will screw into this.
