F1 news - Williams victory marred by garage fire - 16 injured

It was sad to read the news this morning that whilst celebrating their first
F1 win since 2004, a fire broke out in the William's team garage injuring sixteen,
including one person who has been described as having severe burns.

Maldonado himself lifted his twelve year cousin to safety on his shoulders.

It was a good race Gary, and it is a very interesting season so far.
Five different winners in five races isa first for a long time .
One seems to have forgotten about fire in the pits now that there is no refueling, but with the amount of flammable stuff around it is a surprise they don't have more of them.
I am glad that there was not many serious injuries, but it did spoil what was a joyous occasion for Maldinado and Williams
Cheers

Hi Ron,

It was an exciting race indeed.

You wouldn't think you would hear much above the deafening pitch of a couple of dozen
F1 cars but when Alonso came down that main straight in the lead in the Ferrari doing
300km/h, the roar from the thousands of Spanish fans in the stands at Barcelona
was clearly audible on the television.

I too noticed that, at first I thought there was something wrong with the commentators mike but as Alonso drew level with the main grandstand the noise was amazing
Cheers
