Wet weather reproduction : Eta Carina 2011

I am sick of the wet weather here on the Sunshine Coast so in anticipation of fine weather I thought I would do some processing.

Taken in Feb 2011 with Williams Optics Flt 110 with QHY-9 mono at minus 20c. 70 minutes of Lum and 40 minutes of each RGB channel. Darks yes but no flats or field flattener. Guided with PHD and stacked with DSS and processed in Phtotshop CS4.

All comments welcome.

Mark.

Hi Mark,

astrophotography has one big advantage. You can deal with it in cloudy conditions too. You took the opportunity very well!

A very nice photo Mark.

Lots of detail and I like the subtle colours.

Nice shot Mark. Stars on the right are elongated yet sharp on the left = tilt rather than needing the flattener?

My first impression was the stars need more colour as they are mostly white and also background seems just a touch too much green (green is often the enemy of a nice astroimage!!).

But I like the natural colours of Eta you've got going there.

Greg.

Love the colours and the details. If I was nitpicking I'd say back off the white point a little to improve white clipping on your stellar profile and you'll have one top shot for the pool room.

Thank you all. I just can't wait for the weather to clear.
