first ccd

hello members
some advice please!
i want to have a dabble in AP and have a chance to purchase a ccd camera
now i have read hundreds of threads saying prepare to empty your pockets etc. so i dont want to go overboard
the ccd is a starlight express mx7c, sold separately is the STAR2000
would the registax work with these components rather than paying for the astroart downloads?
the camera is $500 and the star2000 is $100
any advice would be great
pat

You may also want to look at the Imaging Source cameras as the older One Shot Colour model has been reduced to about $360 since the new model came in.

hello peter and thanks for replying
i thought the imaging source were just video cameras for planetary
are you saying that the old IS has been reduced to $360 and will do a comparable job?
