As long as they are gone by morning ... that's the important thing.

I can't keep watching replays for the duration of another test.

It was wild up here too Dave, all night long right through to the biggest of the big at 6am this morning.
Then we finally got a break from the lightning for about 2 hours, then it all started again.

Finally stopped about 2 hours ago.

Apart from the occasional thunderstorm over the last few days, this big one started here about 6pm yesterday when we were driving home from Ballarat and had to pull over.
We had no vision (it was an instant flooding downpour) the thunder was constant and deafening, and the hail was large and loud on the car roof (I video'd it but don't know how to get it off my phone).
When the rain and hail backed off enough to see a bit of the road, we pressed on.
Got home and all was flooded and it didn't stop all night and much of today.
Lightning, Thunder, hail and rain.
Man, it has been a wild 24 hours!
We lost power several times for a few hours each time.

Yes, I heard about the Tornado warning for Melbourne too.

I just finished talking to my neighbor and he was at a Christmas party in Keilor downs only about 2k away and his car along with many others have been completely damaged by huge hail stones almost the size of tennis balls and houses with smashed roof tiles and water damage.
We copped some small hail and some very heavy rain but just managed to dodge the worst of it.
It sure has been some weird weather here the last few days very tropical like with the constant thunderstorms, squalls of rain and humidity.

Yes, and lets hope it doesn't affect the cricket tomorrow.

We had two periods of hailstones, I managed to get some photos. Some western part of Melbourne got hails as big as cricket/tennis balls
Just glad we escaped without any major damage.
On the brighter side, the kids got a "white" Xmas.

Would've been better if it rained some of those silvery and goldie coloured "hailstones"

It was wild! Here's one example of the Tornado near Fiskville (halfway between Ballarat and Melbourne) HERE
