Adapters for DSLR onto Newt

Hi guys. I Used to use a Large Tmount ( i think thats what its called) to mount a dslr into the eyepiece recepticle on an 8 inch newt. It is the type that slides back and forth to gain magnification. Last night i tried it on my new scope, a GSO 8"f5. I think the mount is too long, ie far away from the secondary, all i can see is the spider and bright circle around it.
What other ways can i get the DSLR into the action??

Thanks and please excuse my ignorance.. Ive been out of it for a while.

Cheers

its a common issue with all bog stock standard newts. you don't hvae enough in focus.

1. you can try and move the mirror up the tube to get the focus point out
2. Cut the tube which is basically a big movement on the focus point.
3. Low profile focuser which moves the camera towards the focus point

Thats about your options

In my case (with a 10" Newt GSO f4) there is a 2" tube that fits into the focuser that has the 1.5" eyepiece attached to it. Take it all out and get a 2" T piece adaptor for your camera. I put some threads on here about it. It brings the DSLR nearer the focus point and worked with mine.
Just stick it on the camera and go straight into the 'hole' in the tube.
Will look around for the website I got mine from
http://www.cncsupplyinc.com/index.htm?all_canon.htm
This for a canon, they have others and it's shorter that attaching a T piece with a standard 1.25" nose piece then bunging that on a scope's 1.25" eye piece. Worked for my GSO.
Good luck

Hong kong pete, i have purchased alot of stuff from him, he is reliable and his prices are very compeditive!

Look for Baader MPCC generally 50% of what you would purchase it for over here for exactly the same product
