Thumbs up Auroras over Planet Earth from the ISS

The last timelapse taken from the ISS was good, but this one is even better.

Spend 5 minutes flying over planet Earth onboard the International Space Station, watching auroras, lightening storms and more.
A timelapse all others will aspire to

Thanks for the link Mike.

Fantastic!

It also really brings home how thin that atmosphere is as well compared to the diameter
of the Earth. And how ablaze it is with the lights from towns and cities.

The Nile River, Cairo, the Red Sea and the Suez Canal are all instantly recognizable
at 2:41 to give some sense of scale.

The contrast of the number of lights along the Nile compared to the surrounding
deserts is telling.

Wow Mike,

what a glorious ride that was. I was struggling to get where the ISS was at any given point, until Gary pointed out the location at 2.41 over the horn and northeast of Africa, which was very clear once pointed out. Amazing how well lit the shores of the Nile are.

A great ride Mike - thanks for posting
