SX AO Unit any good?

I am looking at possibly putting an SX AO LF unit on my CDK 17
to help get smaller stars and tighter images with my FLI ML8300 and Proline 16803.

Is anyone using an SX AO unit (does not have to be the LF model)?

Is it reliable? Does it work well? What sort of improvements in image quality
did you find and at what focal length and camera?

Greg.

Greg,

I have an AO-LF that's been sitting here in its box looking pretty for a few weeks. When my Atlas focuser arrives, hopefully early next week, I'll finally have enough back focus to try it out. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'll be using with with a GSO RC10 at 2000mm and with reducer at between 1500-1600mm, depending on how the spacing works out.

I have seen some very positive comments on the SX Yahoo group and other places, so I have high hopes. I have also seen comments from people having difficulty making them work, so I'm expecting to wrestle with the software for a few days

Cheers,
Rick.
