How to progress my observations in LP central

Hello,

Apologies if this has been covered before.

First up my garden in Naremburn is pretty light polluted.

I have been checking out the planets because they are easy to find, and it's time to move on, but I am pretty confused on what I should try to look at now, what magnifications to use when trying to locate them and what I should expect to see visually...

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Richard

what to look for

Use your lowest power eyepiece to search for nice globular clusters, I had a friends C9.25 around the other night and they were quite speccy in that SCT.
Smaller planetary nebulas as well.
Stellarium is for friend for this!
cheers
Graham

Cool, thanks Graham,

I have a Vixen 40mm NPL Plossl Eyepiece - 1.25", would that be the go?

I have Astroplanner, so I guess I need to sit down and figure that out.

Is there a handy technique that I can use to figure out the lowest magnitude I can see with the 10" through my light pollution?

Cheers
Richard
