Dennis' animated gif of Saturn and the GWS

Here's Dennis' fantastic animated gif of Saturn showing the rotation of the Great White Spot (storm)!

Incredible stuff Dennis!

Thank you!

Now that I’ve had the opportunity to pause for breath and get some sleep after the nights of good seeing and the days of strenuous processing, I would just like to say thank you to everyone. Thank you for your nice words and encouragement – they helped inspire me to get out there even whilst tired, and maintain the rage with Registax.

Being a member of the IIS community has improved my knowledge and skills and I am grateful for the help and advice I have received, as well as the opportunities to learn from the amazing work of others in the community.

Thanks to Mike also for hosting the animated gif’s; it is hard to imagine that these distant gas giants, in their frigid outposts of our solar system, have had their rotation revealed by the humble yet mighty webcam.

Thanks!

Dennis

Excellent outcome Dennis.

What program are you using for your animations?

Thank you Dennis for being a part of IIS. It's great to see accomplished imagers posting their results here first. And getting the full support of the active community.

Hi Paul

Here is the overall work flow:

Capture the avi's via K3CCDTools
Process each avi in Registax whose output is a series of bmp image files
Open the bmp's in ImagesPlus to align then crop and save as bmp's
Open the aligned/cropped bmp's in K3CCDTools and save as an avi.
Open the avi in Corel PhotoPaint 12 and save as a gif

Cheers

Dennis

Dennis, you might be interested in having a play with this gif animator. It used to be about a month trial, don't know if that's changed but it's loads of fun. http://www.gif-animator.com/

do you have Photoshop Dennis. You should be able to do it as well in Adobe Illustrator that comes packaged with PS.
