I'm only just gettingthe polar alignment up to speed so my subs have beenrather short - just getting up to three minutes.
This shot is a stack of about 1 1/2 hrs all up.
There's doesn't seem to be as much information there as I'd expect, am I right to be using sigma clipping in the DSS stack?
If I stretch it too much it becomes grainy and grey and I hate that.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I think I might push the subs to about 5 mins now that I've got the guiding working right - should I dump the previous information or add the lot together?
Then you're best shot is to go wider field. It's going to be hard yakka with a DSLR that close up. You can do it tough. Just going to take longer and a lot of subs. Keep stacking.
Why miss JJJ - I'm old enough to be someone's granny!
And if I was in Kentucky (dueling banjos country), I'd be old enough to be someone's great granny!
Thank you for your input and your sweet compliment!
Going great guns Jenny!
Looks like your tracking/ guiding is going well at this fL. Not easy to get good round stars as you have.
As Marc and JJ have suggested, yep, keep on gathering data and adding to it.
In the end you'll beat the noise with more and more subs.
The more data, the easier it will be to process and stretching will not show as much noise.
Your colour will become much deeper as well.
