I like the framing in this shot ......
With my unmodified canon 1000D and unguided as usual!

Graham, are you a member of the AST (Astronomical Society of Tasmania)??. If not, you should join. They will be able to help you out with any problems you're having with your mount and such

double dso in 80mm

It was I think 25 secs at ISO 800mm only two frames stacked with no flats or darks, stacked in nebulosity and tweaked in nebulosity and iPhoto. Canon 1000D through Meade APO 80mm , was in Alt AZ at the time hence the low number of frames.
I am a financial member of AstroTas but haven't been to any meetings yet - have a four month old girl at home so when I finish work I tend to hand around the house (and deck!)
Cheers for comments
Graham
