This star is currently THE number one target of interest for amateur spectroscopists with high resolution (R>10,000) instruments. Despite its low altitude European amateurs, mainly French, are the most involved, especially in proam collaborations. As far as I'm aware I'm the only southern hemisphere amateur seriously involved with delta Sco, having been taking regular spectra of it for the last 15 months... mainly photosphere and accretion disk RV measurements.
