Starlight FeatherTouch Focuser

Hi
I've never been happy with the focuser on my LX200. Too much play. Too coarse etc. I tried the Peterson kit fix and while it was better (and the whole operation did in fact reduce mirror flop), it was still a very mushy focusing experience.

I opted to get a Starlight focuser after looking at a couple of posts and it arrived last week in very prompt order. I got to try it last night and while its pricey at $229 I can safely say its brilliant and about 1000% better than the Meade one. Smooth, no mushiness and the fine focus control is great for imaging adjustments.

I can recommend this to anyone suffering the SCT focusing blues.

Totally agree with you, I also found this setup reduces mirror shift / flop significantly on a C9.25 - althought that is not its intended purpose!

Yes they work well and are nice and smooth. Had mine for a few years now and it has done the trick.
