Mosaic Moon 23-2-2011

Hi all...

here's my 2nd attempt at a lunar mosaic, this time i ran the frames through Autopano Giga (big brother to Autostitch) rather than manually aligning frames in CS5 as in my previous attempt.

the process is very simple and the results are much better than expected... in particular the blending of the frames seems flawless, something i struggled with in CS5, i would always end up with 1 or 2 telltale 'joins' that i couldn't get to blend with the rest of the image...

the final image consists of 12 frames captured with K3CCD...

Saxon 115mm f8 Newt.
HEQ5 Pro GoTo
Modded Toucam SPC900NC
GSO ND-96 Moon Filter

comments and advice welcome...

cheers...
Ian...

Ian, that's a pretty good shot consider you had to stitch many frames.

Probably a little too much contrast where the highlights are little blown but the image is very good.

Cheers,
Darrin...
