brand new wings

This little guy was on my shed door this morning drying
out his/ her brand new wings in the morning sun.
They hover over our pool in summer but are very hard to catch on
camera as they never seem to land anywhere!

I got one shot of it on the shed door then the Pentax went flat!
Then I used my daughters compact Samsung for the rest.
After a few minutes on my hand fluttering his wings he flew away.
A lost opportunity...would have loved to get better shots of his
wings.
Lovely creatures.

Wow, what amazing images Steve, love them!!!
I chase them with my camera, but they can be tricky to photograph, but this little fella was loving it ... perhaps he thinks he is at the bug Oscars.
The colours are beautiful, and the detail on the wings is magnificent.
Hope someone can tell us exactly what type of ... dragonfly, he is.
