Photoshop - what type of licence?

If I am going to use Photoshop in a non-commercial, not for profit manner, am I still obliged to shell out $1500 on a full licence, or it it acceptable to get one of their student editions??

I would love to get it, but can't justify fifteen hundred...

I have an A.R.R.R. licence for Photoshop 6
But I have a normal licence for an Earlier version.
Doesn't a Special Edition come bundled with a printer or something?

You can get the licence for the student version, but you have to prove you are a student, and presently at some learning institute.

-a way to get around this is to do a short course wth a camera shop who has an education section & sells the software - - this will qualify you for education pricing...Micahels in Melb does this - i bought a camera -got a free course & this quaifies me for edu pricing...though i am a teacher anyway & could get the education price

• Primary and secondary school students—students enrolled at an accredited public or private primary or secondary school providing full-time instruction
• Faculty and staff—teachers and staff employed by an accredited primary or secondary school or public or private university or college

So, if your children are at school, then you can buy it for home family use.

The download version is just $699 US but unfortunately you can't buy through the US store - The Aussie store charges $1162 for the exact same download version. With an exchange rate of 0.98, I wonder who's getting ripped off here? (Remember, no GST payable on internet sales under $1000)
