Jupiter Oct 24th

Hi All,

Imaged Jupiter last night in "nearly" good seeing. Actually had some reasonable detail in all channels.

Have attached 2 RGB, R, G, B data sets to show the individual channels that make up each RGB.

Also will attach some 807nm IR images to this thread in another post.

Thanks for looking
Regards
Trevor

Same here, these are really nice, I hope once I have general snapshots down pat I would love to move into RGB. Great stuff.

Man I know what this feeling is like mate. Saturday night was looking like it would really turn it on but just failed to get up. I should have been imaging at sunset but was still cooling.

Nice images all the same Trevor, heaps of detail and very smooth. Are you doing 50 second avi's or are you doing less? I have been doing 50 second SER for this season and it does help to have more frames to stack.

Thanks Mike, tried unsuccessfully to setup a new 23" LCD ASUS monitor for my processing, have now reverted to a CRT.

Thanks Paul, sure have had a lot of mediocre seeing for much of this year, pretty frustrating for sure.

Since the arrival of the Flea, initially I was capturing FIT files, 50 sec's at 50 fps but after filling 4 1Tb external drives I have reverted to capturing avi's, 50 sec's at 60 fps.

Thanks Ray, each one of those channels represents between 1200 & 1500 of the available 3000 frames that I capture in 50 sec's, per channel. Thus, the final RGB stack is between 3600 & 4500 frames.

On the occasions that I actually get good seeing I would be using at least 2000 of the available 3000 frames per channel which would mean that my final RGB would be at least 6000 frames. That makes for a pretty amazing hi-res image. The problem has been that there has not been many nights like that this year.

Thanks very much Lester, I well remember some of your outstanding images of Jupiter from last year that John Rogers saw fit to include in his B.A.A. reports. I am sure things will turn around for you, it's just a matter of time.
